The Phoenix School for Creative Learning, an independent, non-profit, non-discriminatory, co-educational day school was established in 1993.
The individualized educational program is designed to help students with all types of learning disabilities, A.D.D, A.D.H.D, and Asperger's Syndrome, achieve their potential. The school offers an individualized educational program for grades 2-12.
The Phoenix School is diploma granting and accredited by the Tennessee State Department of Education.
The Phoenix School believes that the arts contribute to the development of the total student and therefore, the school uses an arts-based curriculum designed to enhance creativity as well as remediate basic deficiencies. This approach successfully combines knowledge, imagination, and cognitive skills. Projects and field trips are an important part of the curriculum.
The Phoenix School also tailors its activities and programs to meet the needs of each individual student. In addition, the Phoenix School addresses the individual modalities of each of its students, while respecting his/her individual differences using a variety of techniques and strategies.
Class sizes are small teacher to student ratio.
The high success rate of The Phoenix's students can be attributed to the creativity and nurturing nature its teachers.
